The Early Years - Volume III

The Heber family moved to Paris in the 1930’s. Rabbi Asher Heber recalls some of his father’s memories of the Rebbe in Paris then.

When visiting Paris, France, the Previous Rebbe stayed at the home of Reb Yankel and Baila Lax in the 1930’s. The Rebbe used to visit the Previous Rebbe there. Berel Lax, their twenty years old son, recalls some of his memories of the Previous Rebbe and his son-in-law, the Rebbe, there.

Rabbi Avrohom Yehuda Jaloginsky was a young boy of about thirteen years when he lived in Paris in the 1930’s. His daughter, Rivkah Marelus, recalls some of his father’s fondest memories of the Rebbe there.

Rabbi Yoel Reitzer lives in Antwerp, Belgium. His father, Moshe Zev Reitzer was studying to become a pharmacist at “the Sorbonne,” attending some of the same classes as the Rebbe in the late 1930’s.

The Steinmetz family moved to Paris in 1938. Their oldest son, Efraim, was ten years old at the time and he remembers their visits to the Rebbe & Rebbetzin’s apartment in Paris.
